Dental Staff

Benjamin Hulse, DDS

Dr. Hulse grew up with six brothers and five sisters in various states across the country. This nomadic lifestyle continued after high school when Dr. Hulse served an LDS mission in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Apart from the wealth of life experience this brought, it also enabled Dr. Hulse to speak fluent Spanish.

Dr. Hulse married his high school sweetheart, Heather, and they reside in Spanish Fork with their five children: Jaci, Bastian, Xander, Tessa and Quinn.

Dr. Benjamin Hulse was a graduate and Valedictorian of UVU’s class of 2002. His personal research into the Indra butterfly was published, and his research into unique traits of yeast in AIDS patients is part of an ongoing study on the topic. He pursued and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Iowa in 2006.

Dr. Benjamin Hulse came to Salem after having served in the U.S. Army as a dental captain. During his time in the military, Dr. Hulse was responsible for the deploying preparedness and reintigration of U.S. soldiers stationed in Europe before the left to or came back from Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Hulse was a member of the unit responsible for hospital dentistry at Landstuhl regional Medical Center, the biggest military hospital outside of the U.S. Due to this additional experience, Dr. Hulse is trained in advanced cardiac life support and is licensed for sedation.

After his military service, Dr. Hulse moved to Cookeville, TN, where he opened his own private practice from scratch. After a rapid growth in business due to great word of mouth, Dr. Hulse’s office was voted the best dental office in town in the summers of 2011 and 2012 by the readers of the Cookeville Herald Citizen, a paper that served the 60,000 residents of the area. Though his family truly loved their Tennessee experience, his family grew homesick and decided to return to south Utah County where most of his and his wife’s family is located.

David WennerholmDavid Wennerholm – Office Manager

David lives happily in Spanish Fork with his wife and 3 kids. After moving a lot in his youth and meeting his wife in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, he decided to move closer to family, which led him to Utah. David has a drive for customer satisfaction that comes from his years of experience in the service industry. Specifically, ten years of cleaning carpets, a year and a half of that as an owner of his own carpet cleaning business, has left him accustomed to identifying  the needs of his customer and doing what it takes to create life-long customers. In his extra time, David loves spending time with his wife and kids by coaching many of the sports teams his kids have played on. As an Eagle Scout, he loves the outdoors, mainly hiking, and enjoys passing that addiction along to his family.
Ann BroughAnn Brough – Dental Hygienist

I was born and raised in Michigan and came out West at twenty years old when my family moved to Arizona.  I’ve worked in pediatric, oral surgery and general dentistry offices as an assistant and receptionist. In 1998, I graduated from Weber State University’s Dental Hygiene program. I often have nurses ask me how I can have my hands in peoples’ mouths all day, but dentistry is what I know and am passionate about (and I’d rather have my hands in mouths than bedpans!)  Dentistry is especially important now that the medical community is making the connection between good oral health and how it relates to the overall health of the body.

I love to work with dentists and staff who have great dental skills as well as good people skills, and I’m sure you will find that at Salem Smiles!
Lynda ThomasLynda Thomas – Dental Hygienist

She has been a Dental Hygienist for over 9 years and prior to becoming a Hygienist, she was a Dental Assistant for 5 years.  She loves what she does and attends a variety of continuing education courses that keep her job interesting and exciting, thus allowing her to provide the best for our patients.

Outside of work, she enjoys keeping active with sports, travel, running, reading, and spending quality time with her four children.
Ruby VillanuevaRuby Villanueva – Dental Assistant

Ruby grew up in San Diego, California. She moved to Utah with her family and now lives in Elk Ridge, Utah. She has been a dental assistant for ten years and loves to help the patients with their dental needs. Shantel WilliamsShantel Williams – Dental Assistant

I was born and raised in Spanish Fork/Benjamin area where I attended school. I graduated Spanish Fork High School in 2007. I went on to work for an orthodontist for a year before getting into the dental field. I enjoy meeting new people and keeping up with the patients as they come in over the years!
In my spare time I love to spend it with my daughter and my friends and family. I love to run, go camping, hunting, four wheeling, and anything outdoors. I love to keep active as well as enjoy every moment of watching my daughter grow.
